Un-hibernating Neckbands (Turning them ON!)
UNHIBERNATING (TURN ON)
This video will show you how to un-hibernate your neckbands using your magnet key. And down below, you will find another one showing how to put them back into hibernation.
To turn on or unhibernate the Neckband, find the LED window on one of the flat sides of the device. Then bring and hold the magnet key on the orange strip near the LED window (see video above and below). Hold the magnet in this location until you hear a rising tone melody. As soon as you start hearing the tones, remove the magnet.
The Neckband will now start flashing the LED, and the LED colour is an indication of the state of the neckband. Here is meaning of each colour.
LED is blinking ORANGE - this means that the Neckband is attempting to connect to the network.
- For a cellular Neckband, the network connection can take anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour.
- For a LoRa Neckband, the connection process can take several hours.
Once the connection has been established, the LED will start blinking GREEN.
**LED is blinking RED **- Pay close attention to the blinking pattern - a single blink means that the Neckband has not been able to establish a network connection. If this state persists, contact customer support.
LED is double blinking RED - if the LED blinks twice in quick succession (repeatedly) then this means that the battery charge is too low for the Neckband to begin operation. Please leave the Neckband out in full sunlight to continue charging the battery.
**LED is blinking GREEN **- Once the network connection is established and the battery charge is sufficient for normal operation, the LED will start blinking Green.
Here is another short video showing the process and the audio tones to expect.
HIBERNATING (TURN OFF)
And finally, here is a video showing how to hibernate your neckbands.
If you are packing your system away for an extended period of time, please follow our advice here.
To put your Neckbands back into hibernation (or to turn them off), you will follow a similar process using the magnet key.
Bring and hold the magnet near the LED window. The LED will immediately turn purple (indicating that it has sensed the presence of the magnet). The Neckband will begin emitting a short beep every second for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, the Neckband will begin playing a descending tone melody. As soon as you hear the descending melody, remove the magnet from the side of the Neckband. Moments later, the Neckband LED will stop blinking altogether, indicating that is now in sleep mode.
Notes about the LED Blink Rate
When you first unhibernate the Neckband, the LED will blink quickly (twice every second). This FAST blink rate will remain for the first 90 minutes but will then slow down to one one blink every 10 seconds.
The intention of this feature is to make it easier for you to determine the state of the Neckband (waiting for 10 seconds to see the LED colour can really slow you down when dealing with many devices).
