How to manage Move Plans

A Move Plan is a reusable sequence of virtual paddock moves and durations that you set up once and apply whenever needed. Rather than building a move schedule from scratch each time, you create a plan that reflects your intended rotation — whether that's a seasonal pattern, a weekly rotation, or any other grazing programme — and then schedule it against a mob when you're ready. Changes made to a Move Plan after scheduling do not affect any moves already in progress.

Creating a Move Plan

Step 1. Select Move Plans from the top navigation bar. The Move Plans panel opens, showing any existing plans on your property. Tap the plus icon in the bottom-right toolbar to create a new one.

Step 2. The Create Move Plan dialog opens. Type a name for your plan at the top. Tap the Virtual Paddock dropdown to open the VP list.

Step 3. A searchable list of your virtual paddocks appears, each showing its area in hectares. Select the first paddock in your planned rotation.

Step 4. The selected VP is added to the plan. Set the Duration — how many days and hours the mob should stay in this paddock. Tap Add Move to add the next paddock in the rotation.

Step 5. Repeat for each paddock in the rotation, selecting the VP and setting its duration. The total area and days update at the top as you build the plan.

Step 6. When all paddocks and durations are set, hit the save button. A Move plan added confirmation will appear and the new plan will show in the Move Plans list.

Editing a Move Plan

To edit a plan, select it in the Move Plans list and tap the pencil icon in the bottom toolbar. The Edit Move Plan dialog opens, showing the plan name, each VP in order, and its duration.

Step 1. From here you can rename the plan, change the VP for any move by tapping its dropdown, adjust days and hours for any move, reorder moves by dragging the handle on the left of each row, remove a move with the trash icon, or add new moves with Add Move. Make your changes and hit the save button.

Step 2. A Move plan updated confirmation will appear and the list will reflect the changes.

Deleting a Move Plan

To delete a plan, select it in the list and tap the trash icon in the bottom toolbar. A Delete Move Plan confirmation dialog will appear. Tap Delete to confirm. A Move plan(s) deleted message will appear and the plan will be removed from the list.

Scheduling a Move Plan

To use a Move Plan, you can schedule it in two ways. From the Move Plans panel, select the plan and tap the schedule icon in the bottom toolbar. Alternatively, from the Mobs panel, select the mob and tap Turn On VP, then choose Schedule Plan under Type and select the Move Plan from the list. Either way, the Schedule Move dialog opens with Schedule Plan selected — choose the mob, set a start time, and confirm. The plan will execute as a chain of scheduled moves from that start time. For the full scheduling steps, see the article on how to schedule a VP move for a mob.

Keep in mind that once a Move Plan is scheduled, any edits or deletions to the plan itself will not affect the moves already queued for that mob. Scheduled moves run independently.

Summary

Move Plans let you build your grazing rotation once and reuse it across seasons or mobs. Create the plan, schedule it when you're ready, and adjust it anytime — edits to the plan won't touch moves that are already scheduled and underway.
