Managing the Virtual Paddock for an Individual Animal on the mobile app
This article explains how to activate, deactivate, or change the virtual paddock (VP) for an individual animal using the eShepherd mobile app. This applies to animals that aren't currently assigned to a mob, letting you manage them on their own without adding them to a mob first.
This guide is for the eShepherd mobile app. If you are using the web app, see How to turn on and off virtual paddocks instead, as the steps are different there.
Activating a Virtual Paddock for an Individual Animal
Step 1. Open the Mobs panel and select No mobs to view animals that aren't currently assigned to a mob. | Step 2. Tap the animal you want to manage, or use the lasso icon on the map to draw a selection around it instead. | Select a Virtual Paddock opens, showing the animal's current VP if it has one. |

Step 3. Use the search bar to find the virtual paddock you want to activate, or use the filters if you'd rather narrow the list that way. | Step 4. Select the VP from the list. It will be highlighted on the map. Slide to turn it on. | Step 5. If applicable, a Potential Risk to Animals warning will appear if the animal is located outside the VP. Review it before choosing Turn On to proceed, or Cancel to stop. |

A confirmation message will appear once the VP is activated, and the animal's card will update to show the new VP.
Deactivating a Virtual Paddock for an Individual Animal
Step 1. Open the Mobs panel, select No mobs, and tap the animal you want to deactivate a VP for (or use the lasso icon on the map to select it instead). | Step 2. With the animal's current VP shown at the top of Select a Virtual Paddock, slide to turn it off. | |

A Virtual paddock deactivated confirmation message will appear.
Changing to a Different VP
To move the animal from its current VP straight to a new one, slide to turn off the current VP first, then search for and select the new VP and slide to turn it on, following the same steps above.
