How to manage your physical paddocks, watering points, and landmarks

eShepherd lets you map your property's physical paddocks, watering points, and landmarks directly on the map. Once they're in, you can edit or delete them any time as your property changes. Physical paddocks and watering points can be plotted on the map or imported from a KML file if you've already got your boundaries in another system.

Physical paddocks

Physical paddocks are the real fence lines on your property. Adding them to eShepherd gives you a reference layer under your virtual paddocks and helps you plan grazing movements more accurately.

Adding a physical paddock by drawing

Step 1. From the map, open the Physical Paddocks panel via the infrastructure menu. Tap the + button in the bottom toolbar to create a physical paddock.

Step 2. The Create Physical Paddock form opens. Give the physical paddock a name and add any notes. Pan the map and tap to place each corner point, drawing the boundary of your paddock.

Step 3. As you place points, the boundary takes shape on the map with the side lengths shown. Continue placing points around the perimeter.

Step 4. When you are happy with the shape, save it. A Physical paddock created confirmation appears and the paddock is added to your list.

Uploading physical paddocks from a KML file
